SHOOTING SCHOOL Is open!
Coach Lenny Holmes announces the opening dates of Maine's Only Shooting School dedicated solely to improving the shooting of young players. "Shooting instruction is the least developed and most difficult traininig for young players to receive" according to Holmes. "Everyone is focused on drill and ball handling work, it's almost like shooting the basketball has become secondary despite it's OBVIOUS importance to the game. The time is now for a change."
Coach Holmes has been working with shooters for 20 years ane here are what coaches and parents say about his work.
"I have been fortunate enough to be on hand for several shooting clinics run by Lenny Holmes and come away impressed every time... I have worked at over 50 Basketball Camps around the country and closely with shooting instructors through my Shot Loc Basketball training tools business and I consider Coach Holmes Maine's foremost authority on shooting instruction" - Coach Tony Staffiere
Parent Comment after a recent clinic: "Thank you so much for having Mr. Holmes come to the clinc. What a change in the kids shooting performance. He was great with the kids!"
There are 3 Phases to Shooting Instruction:
- Identifying Flaws in Shot Form
- Consistent and Constant Feedback during Correction Phase
- Repetition to make Permanent
Identification Phase: Coach Holmes extensive use of video analysis is the key to identifying and instructing on shot form. Coach Holmes has been using this practice for close to 20 years and has refined the process to science. He is the only instructor in the State who relies so heavily on this vital process.
Feedback/Correction Phase - With the assistance of the Noah Shooting system, the most advanced shooting training system on the maket, and personal feedback - Coach Holmes is able to provide the consistent followup that is so important to success.
Repetition Phase - Through the use of the "Shot Gun" once players have reached the point of being on their "own" the Gun will provide them the opportunity to put up the number of shots required to obtain the muscle memory needed to make permanent the improvment.
How to Get Started? Contact Coach Holmes at lenny@smsportszone.com to set up on initial meeting and evaluation. Details and dates of the program will be discussed at that time. Shooting School has an open enrollment structure but is limited to 20 participants.
